what is T.A. ?

These Americans is the world’s first culture archive (500,000 images and growing) as social merchandising brand. The brand is a 2-part project that houses both a clothing line and online-archive. Founded by Californian artist Doug Rickard, both ends of T.A. incorporate a political and subversive attitude and personal perspective on all forms of American culture, with an emphasis on art and artistic expression over product. T.A. apparel is inspired by AMERICAN OBSESSION / CULTURE and a volatile mixture of race, class, violence, sex, anger with an undeniable American visual aesthetic. The design is anchored in 1950s-1990s sub-culture and rejection of mainstream values and riffs off of the advent of “streetwear” at the end of the millennium. The line is comprised of graphic t-shirts and accessories. More than just an online magazine or clothing line, T.A. is a project that remains personal and direct, reflective of fury and dedicated to purity of vision and expression. T.A. is EPIC.
